"Dear Joanne,
I was so touched and thrilled when I saw the actual painting.
It is as though you knew him. Since Michaels death I
have received many images of Michael (sketches) from various
fans friends and strangers, but I must say your portrait Joanne
is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. Tina sent me
a black and white photograph which arrived yesterday.
Your
painting has captured the real Michael the gentle loving boy,
the man I knew and loved unconditionally.
Michael
was a ray of sunshine; he seemed to arrive in this world with
a beautiful smile on his face. I will miss him every day for
the rest of my life. I gain some strength from knowing he
loved life and lived it to the full. He had a dream and lived
this dream and he left many beautiful memories through his
songs and his beautiful voice.
Thinking
of those times bring a smile to my face as I am writing about
it, just thought you may like to know you
have made me a happier person".

"Joanne,
I sat speechless as your portrait of Michael appeared on my
computer screen.
It is astonishing how you captured Michael's familiar, wistful
glance, a look I know well. Such a powerful image.
I am in awe of your amazing talent, it is hard to believe that
he wasn't sitting in front of your canvas. I feel that I can
reach out and touch his beautiful curls. You seemed to do the
impossible; you captured the essence of Michael.' Thank you,
thank you, thank you" |

"A very special painting to work on knowing how much
it is appreciated by Michael's family, friends and fans from
all over the world.
It is moments like this that painting becomes an absolute
pleasure, l think this is such a lovely portrait which really
does capture the warm and gentle nature in Michael that his
family remember so well.
Thanks to Karine for allowing me to work from your wonderful
photograph". |
