Modes of Transport from THE PENNY FARTHING to SPACE TRAVEL
This image was donated to A Window To Your Past, by Bob Smith of Dewsbury
A charabanc thought to be somewhere in Dewsbury, or do YOU know different? The vehicle shown, an early charabanc as you can see it can carry many people, tested on a flat road with the wind behind it, a unbelievable 12 MPH was achieved, my only concern is the chap standing in front with a crutch, clearly he has only one leg, now is he the spare driver "God forbid", or the ticket collector in which case just how does he manage to climb all over the charabanc collecting tickets l've no idea.
