Dandy Hobby Horse bicycle
This machine was used by Reverend Joseph Coltman, M A. Incumbent Curate of Beverley Minster. He was reputed to have weighed 37 stone and 8 pounds. This style of bicycle was designed by a London coachbuilder called Denis Johnson and originally known as the ‘Pedestrian Curricle’. Dated 1818-1837.
